You can also use the html paragraph tags (p and /p) to control how much text winds up on the subject line. But it only works with the comment editor in the dashboard, not the easy editor from the threaded forum.

Just make sure what you want to appear as a title is what you type first, no?

Most of it’s pretty transparent to me. While I have put comments on many boards and websites, this is probably the only board where I do a lot of “back-and-forth” conversation. That’s where the interface starts to make a difference. I can manage simple one-off comments on almost any system.

To avoid spoilers in comments, people have to fill about two or three sentences with crap just to avoid it showing up on the display line.

The way I see it is, the Zone is Robert’s “baby”. To say it can be easily replaced even if just temporarily is an unintentional slap in the face. It trivializes what i’m sure are/ were countless hours spent banging away at the keyboard birthing the Zone.

Leaving the ‘physical’ Zone up to one of us would be welcoming back the cheesy boards along with their level of usage.

I would have expected the DamnTikiWiki experience to have burnt away any tendency to assume that all free software is created equal. The surprising thing is that some of it is worth much more than you pay for it, but you have to work to separate the wheat from the crap.

I’d think you’d appreciate that one reason WordPress achieves such high quality is that it’s not really free, when you account for all the money flows. They run a commercial operation, wordpress.com, that hosts blogs and takes in advertising revenue. Plenty of money to keep a couple of dozen programmers permanently in hog heaven. Plus the brutal discipline of a for-profit operation to set boundaries on their creativity.

You guys should just relax and let me shoulder the burden of getting the place fixed up. Just between you and me, when I read this exchange between you and Frank, I thought you’d both lost your minds. Why would any sane person want to go through what I’ve been going through? I’m numb by now. I may as well take the hits.
