Watching a "US-less" NATO in Libya... May 11, 2011 5:05 am mcfly

…is kinda like watching Tinkerbell take on a dragon. The apparently inevitable result is roasted fairy.

Europe used to throw itself into world affairs with great relish. Too much so, in fact. Perhaps they’re hobbled by their own collective memories. Normally I’d be fine with that, except in this case they’re supposed to be trying to help some rather desperate people, and just can’t seem to steel themselves for the task. It’s something of a blow for anyone hoping to see non-American democracies take the bull by the horns.

Am I alone on this one?
