Informal survey: How do you surf? May 16, 2011 3:27 pm Robert

For the most part, front lines of the browser wars on desktop computers have shifted from technical incompatibility to feature competition, and that’s a relief. My life as a Web designer is easier…at least as far as desktop browsers. But now there are other devices to consider.

I read below that McFly’s using a smart phone, and he couldn’t be the only one. Could y’all let me know what devices you’re using to surf the Web these days?

Discussion software should fit naturally on small-format devices, as long as you don’t insist on cluttering up the page with commercial graffitti. Some of the more sophisticated services reformat Web pages to fit smaller screens, but to get the best results I’m going to need to design an interface specifically for these new-fangled devices. Should be a fun challenge, or challenging fun, or something like that. Imagine being able to post on the Zone from anywhere on any device. You’ll never escape this place!
