I miss the Line, where threads without activity over the last 24 hours were separated by a line. It was one of the best features of the Classic Era.

Also, I’d like to see threads with the most recent activity at the top of the pile.

That’s all I ever relied on in the Zone That Was. DTW’s Latest Posts was a bonus.

I look for something that shows, at a glance, where the conversations are going and what’s new. The page I get when I hit “comment” at the top works for that. The same page has a button for most recent posts, too. Long ago, the original Zone software did that too, mostly by accident. The way the software worked, each post and comment was considered by my browser to be a URL “link,” so things I’d clicked on before were a different color than things I hadn’t.

Yolks.

Seems to add up to a need for a “most recent posts” widget, like we had previously on the right.

That would display recent topic (root) posts, but comments display is a different problem. Again, to try to interpret your behavior as a need, are you looking to be notified when somebody replies to one of your posts? Or is it more a matter of gauging overall traffic, e.g., which threads are having active discussions?

Yoiks.

The “edit window” is the screen that comes up when you click “edit” on a post. Once you’re in this mode, a white screen with bluish trim, you can use the menu on the left to click on “Posts” and “Comments” to keep easy track of what’s new. There are a lot of handy formatting buttons in this window.

Fortunately, so far we have no “sneak editors,” or people with editing privileges taking advantage of the current large-scale ability to edit almost any post or comment on the board.

I don’t follow.

What’s the “‘edit’ window”? and why is “all the formatting…easy”? Who are the “sneak editors” and is it their sneaking or their editing which is random?
