Salmon Cheese Ball May 22, 2011 7:07 am Eri

This sounds absolutely delicious. And easy to make.

Salmon Cheese Ball

Swanson Health Products Healthy Recipe Salmon Cheese Ball

8 oz. low-fat cream cheese (softened)
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon finely chopped onion
1 teaspoon prepared horseradish
1/8 teaspoon Swanson Organic Dill Weed
Swanson Crystal Himalayan Salt, Swanson Organic Peppercorns (ground), and Swanson Organic Garlic Powder to taste
1 can Raincoast Trading Wild Sockeye Salmon
3 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley
1/4 cup chopped Swanson Organic Walnuts

In mixing bowl, beat cheese, lemon juice, onion, horseradish, dill, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until well blended. Drain and flake salmon, then beat into cheese mixture until well blended. Chill the mixture until it is firm enough to handle. Shape it into a ball or log, then coat with parsley and walnuts. Cover and chill thoroughly.

Serve with crackers or with Garlic and Herb Pita Chips!

Makes 10 servings.

Nutritional Breakdown (per serving):

Calories 104, Fat 78 grams, Protein 6 grams, Sodium 182 mg, Carbohydrate 27 grams, Fiber 4 grams

The link to this at Swanson’s site.

You’ll find other links there to more recipes should you be interested. Of course, you don’t have to use Swanson brand products, just get whatever you usually would.

This is fairly low in sodium per serving so unless you overindulge… The fat grams is incorrect. At 9 calories per gram, that would equal 702 calories, so it’s more likely 7.8 grams fat which equals 70.2 calories in fat. Salmon fat is Omega 3 and that is the good stuff, anti-inflammatory and good for the heart.
