Ummm.... TB.....

The Althing HAS existed for about that time, but there have been many, many countries and transitions since then; and therefore, many, many, Althingi's. The modern Iceland's current constitution dates back to 1944. Also, it hasn't really been independent until 1814.

Also, my comment is more of a hope, really. I realise that they have the utmost say in things, but this course of actions DOES seem to imply their consent. Therefore, matters are out of their hand, and into the ones of the few remaining Icelanders and the world. (Come one, there's less people in the country than there is in St. Louis!)

Loopholes Galore!

If a person harms another person on accident (bumping into them, accidentally crashing into each other at the skatepark, etc.), do these count as against the law?
Define "Humane" Many people have many definitions, and many more excuses.

What if someone speaks what they think and believe is the truth? What if news storys misreport? What does this say about RELIGION?

Also, many people are liable to say "Or WHAT!?"

Come to think of it, I believe I started a forum game on the DamnTikiWiki a while ago... I wonder if it's still archived somewhere.

<blockquote>"As long as they can make sure that each and every suggestion taken into consideration is in the interests of Icelandic citizens"</blockquote>

And who gets to decide that?

Iceland has the oldest parliamentary organization still running. The Althing dates back over a thousand years.

My constitution would be rather simple:

Thou shalt not harm another person or animal either by intent or through negligence.

Animals may be humanely killed as a food source or for the purposes of ending suffering.

Thou shalt not lie as this is contrary to the public good.
