		<description>Per the research, evidently it does (work exactly right).  The only reason a pulse is needed is because the heart itself gets fed between pulses.  The rest of the body doesn&#039;t need the &quot;pulse.&quot;  And with this system, the heart gets fed all the time.</description>

		<description>I saw the movie &quot;Threshold&quot; years ago, about the controversial first transplant of an artificial heart into a young girl.  At the time, it was science fiction.  I don&#039;t remember much of the movie, but I remember the scene where the machine is inserted in the chest, hooked up, and it quietly begins to purr, filling with blood.  As with this real-life patient, the girl would have no pulse.

I don&#039;t know if the circulatory system works exactly right if there&#039;s no pulse in it.  I guess we&#039;ll find out.</description>
