My dear nephew. What that little test should teach you is that when you make assumptions, you become very easy to misdirect and manipulate. Go back to the basic premise, cut away the excess and make no assumptions.

Grrr…. Got 6 on my first try.

Personally, I think this game is rigged. Rigged like a shell game.

Many questions have possible double meanings, with no specified one. That way, no matter WHAT I chose, the guy could always claim the other option was the right answer.

I got number 7 wrong. In the word problems, “take away” means “remove.” What’s left is what you have. Since that was too obvious, I assumed I was still holding the two apples. The last one hasn’t gone anywhere, so I put down “3.”

I got #2 right, but it’s a bit fuzzy too since “birthday” is the common usage for “anniversary of our birth.”
