Wow. Just...wow.

I'm watching conservatives fighting like hell to reduce the power of the State, the control it has over our lives at every level, and to keep money in the hands of those who've earned it.

And you can write something like that without your head exploding. Very instructive. Thanks!

Well, Obama has been President for just over two years. Two years sure as hell is not enough time to reverse all the grievous jackass errors that Bush made and you're an idiot if you think if it is.

You report nothing except your twisted view of things. If you want examples of people who think the world owes them something, it's the Republicans. Republicans think the world owes them obeisance, that we all bow to their view of morality and allow them to control every aspect of our lives. The only thing Liberals are guilty of is wanting to make sure compassion rules and we take care of our own. What Republicans want is power. Period. And Republicans won't be satisfied until they have it all in their filthy hands, all the money, all the power and they'll dole it out as they please which be damned little if any at all. Republicans would let Seniors rot and die rather than provide them health care or Social Security which they fucking well earned.

Republicans would let young mothers and their children go without food or healthcare because it might take a penny out of THEIR pockets.

These threads are extremely valuable to me as reminders of why I've turned away from conservatism.

How many years can you drag out "inherited?" Is there any plausible line of thinking that says radically increasing an inherited debt shows you're doing something right?

Bush "inherited" a surplus, and added $4.9 trillion to the debt. Obama inherited that, and is on track to double that amount. Success!

Obama "inherited" two wars. Now we have three, or possibly four. Success!

The Democrats ran Congress since 2006. Obama and the Democrats had near-absolute control of the government for two years after 2008. Did they stop the wars? Close Guantanamo? Keep ANY of the promises Obama made during the campaign? Did they actually fix anything that was broken? Or did they just go nuts trying to enact every statist wet dream they'd been saving up for years?

At some point in the next year defending Obama is going to require the deliberate destruction of your own brain. Don't go there.

Edited to change "He" to Obama to prevent misinterpretation.

Nice try. Bush and the Republicans increased the national debt by $4.9 trillion over two terms. Nothing to be proud of. In fact, it sucked.

But Obama stands to beat that number by a trillion dollars just in his first term alone.

His own budget predicts a debt of $20.82 trillion by 2016, which - if he is re-elected - would clock him in at a debt increase of about ten trillion dollars over his two terms, or over twice Bush's record.

"Metaphysics," dammit.

Every damn person who busts a window and walks off with a TV set thinks the world owes him something, and he's got the right to take it from the Man. Assuming he thinks at all. Every damn person who riots at a G2 conference thinks the enemy is the bankers and capitalists, and that the solution is some form of collectivist economics. Everybody burning things in Greece is fighting for socialist benefits. There is a worldview connected to these things. It says "we have an unalterable right to have 'society' pay for our needs." You can get stuck on the word "liberal" if you want, and try to pretend I'm saying "liberals are all crooks," but it's wider than that. Call the ideology "Barsoomianism" if it makes you feel better.

I don't create the reality, I just report it.

All thieves are liberals? That is the most pathological bullshit you've ever written and you should damned well apologize, you self-righteous...

I'll stop there because you've royally pissed me off and insulted me. Your moral values disgust me.

Too many people? I suggest we volunteer the Republicans to report to their local guillotine for the serving of justice. They caused this mess, let them pay for it. When Clinton left office, we had a surplus. It took how long for Bush to not only run through that but to put us deep into deficit?
