First, you cannot set off an airbag by swatting the front end of a car with something, unless you're Thor. Second, an airbag does not go off by going "poot." It's an explosive catastrophe right in your face, with irritating acrid smoke and fumes all around you, and you sitting there like you've been smacked in the face with a large, dead hog. It's only saving grace is that it's infinitely better than having your guts and steering column becoming intimately acquainted. A couple of points.
