I got yer budget deal right here... July 24, 2011 9:42 am TB

Republicans stand up and tell the Democrats “we’ll go back to the Clinton tax rates if you go back to the Clinton spending levels.”

In 2000, the budget (2005 dollars) was about $2 trillion. If we applied the estimated 2011 crappy tax revenues, the result would be a deficit of $139 billion. About $1.3 trillion less than the current deficit.

Remember 2000? The Golden Years the Democrats keep bringing up? The time Before Bush when Everything Worked? The Federal budget was $1.4 trillion smaller, and somehow everything got done.
