I apologise for the day late post.  I saw the last Harry Potter movie Saturday at a late time; which should be further incentive to get this done earlier in the day.  Sunday, I had to help out a guy who lost money gambling that he owed a friend.  This “friend” was not pleased that he had lost the money, and I had to chip in to save the guy from getting beat up.  Yeah, crazy as usual.  ONWARDS!

I’d also like to suggest that we get an IRC channel.  https://striked.org/ seems like a good place to make one.  Also, we are worth $2,375.  That is all.

United States

Heatwave breaks record  in parts of US and Canada

Once more, it’s hot enough to kill people, and mess up utility services.  I swear, this is becoming a yearly occurrence every summer in the US.  Or maybe it’s just California.

It does strike me as scary however that all you have to do to throw a wrench in the working of the mainland US is raise the temperature a few degrees.  Bam, results.  Surely, we’d think of preparing for heat waves like we do for hurricanes nowadays, right?

Canada

Canada deports China’s most wanted man

The price of neutrality.  No, wait, it’s COWARDICE.  Not the kind that jumps 20 feet when they hear floorboards go creak, but the kind that double-deals, brushes undesirable things under the rug and into closets and bends to pressure just to get rid of it, the kind that turns the other eye as long as nothing major becomes of it.  It’s quite obvious what awaits the guy once he returns, yet Canada will still  deport the guy.  all he did was smuggle some good to get by their damn taxes, which are oppressive as *procreative expletive*.

Norway

Bomb blast near Prime Minister’s Office

I don’t know what pisses me off here – that some nutjob managed to gather the resources needed to do this without anyone noticing, while living double-lives of which none i’m convinced were truly real; or that he chose some youth camp as a target.  WHAT THE HELL DID THEY HAVE TO DO WITH YOUR DAMN AGENDA!?

The thing that really ticks me off is something that happens all the time: They begin to tack the blame on the most convenient excuse possible; in this case, al-Qaida.  Guys, he’s a right wing nutter!  He repeatedly expresses his conviction to Christ, his homeland of Norway, and how the “islamist invasion” of Europe must be stopped and reversed.  Sounds really familiar……..

This makes me feel that the government of Norway and the media outlets covering the story are no better than the bastard himself.  They either just want to write this off as quickly as possible, and avoid any potential mud thrown on various factions, or dumb it into the next big story that people will pay money to see.

China

Fake Apple store found in Kunming city, China

Woooow.  Working political prisoners for profit?  Common.  Gold Farming?  Less common.  Violating copyright and lying to employees and customers alike?  That takes avocados.  Most companies don’t take kindly to rip-offs, and Apple is no exception.   China, thou has lied to us.  We should be soooo surprised.

And on a parting note, I’m sad to say that, due to some unknown assailant, after 17 years on the web, Astronautix.com has left for good.  WHYYYYY!?
