The Democrats have the same problem with Hispanic nationalists. La Raza, and other Hispanic-centric organizations, support open borders for one reason, to increase the size and political power of their ethnic group. The democratic party thinks they can control this group, and their votes, by siding with them on the immigration debate.

Once the demographics reach a tipping point, many on the left are going to be in for a rude awakening. By the time of the seccessionist movement, guerrilla group attacks, and cross border operations of the Mexican millitary, it's going to be too late for anything short of total war to restore order.

Maybe we have political parties as a test to see if we can get along. We failed.

I don't think God really cares whether we are Democrat or Republican. When people start bringing up a religious litmus test for their political side, I tend to write them off as either fanatics or criminals.

Since power seems to be the driving force, or the accumulation thereof, people like that don't care what happens as long as they attain and keep power. The old saw about "power corrupts"--this is probably the most corrupt Congress and government that can be imagined. Government is for sale to the highest bidder. The highest bidders seem to be the NRA, pharmaceutical companies and big business in general.

The only reason I can see for this is that he is catering to what was once penned "The Silent Majority" for votes.

I find it amusing that the only people who take literal creationism seriously as a biological principle are Christian and Islamic fundamentalists.

Then again, considering the rise in political influence of these two movements on the world stage, perhaps 'amusement' is not the correct response. Maybe 'terror' is more appropriate.

There's nothing we can do about religious superstitions and ignorant cults. They have been with us since Day One. But those who cultivate and encourage these savages to promote their own political agendas are reaping the whirlwind. They may one day come to regret their cynical alliance with these religious sects, but how many of the rest of us will have to suffer first?

The German industrialists and bankers got in bed with the Nazis, too. They thought they could use them, and control them. They were mistaken.
