Had a picnic, then a bike ride 'round the lake there, then a nice drive south down the Peak-to-Peak Highway. I love the view when you crest the hill south of Estes (H-36) and see the town laying there in that beautiful valley, glacially sculpted granite and snow-capped mountains framed by the blue Colorado sky. Sigh "Tis a privilage..." Was up in Estes last month. Had a picnic, then a bike ride ’round the lake there, then a nice drive south down the Peak-to-Peak Highway.

My favorite place to go. I'd come home mentally and spiritually refreshed. I'd love to move there and write. I used to want to live in Santa Fe but it's gotten too expensive because of all the celebrities who've moved in there. They discover a place and ruin it for everybody else. Estes Park is basically the same but there are other places near there that would be great. I wonder if the Chipmunk I made friends with is still there?
