I just got home from a week with my best friend, my cousin Donna, and her life partner Melissa. They live in my hometown. I always leave, in tears, realizing another of a few remaining dreams I never knew I had, until these particular points in time. As I hold my cousin in my arms sobbing, there is an unspeakable bond between us that now carries over to her wife, whom I endearingly refer to as M. I miss my girls...their incredible understanding and empathy, kindness, altruism and strong sense of family and sense of fair play. I, too, carry these traits. I do not boast, I simply state. These are what some of my dreams encompass. I have found the sensitive ones that make a difference, matter to me, are my dear friends, and whom I would take a bullet for without question. The last life long dream I learned I had, also comes from these strong self effacing women, four years ago, when I saw them last. The communication we share is spoken, but so much of what we have is unspoken. We truly communicate with our hearts. Five years ago, on another visit with my girls, my dream of a small town, strong ties, and warm memories was realized and my heart will always ache for this. I shall always drink from this cup of need when I visit my best friends. I think that this is what is sorely lacked among people...a sense of being worthwhile...on a level that exists as a form of emotional symbiosis. Another comment.
