Obama offered $4T in deficit reduction on 90% republican terms, and Boner walked away because he couldn't control the nutcases in own his party. This was a deal any republican up to 2008 would have considered a total victory. A slam dunk finger in your face in the end zone victory celebration. The GOP walked away because the Tea party kooks didn't want a deal under any terms. This was: ok let's cut entitlements and spending by $4T and oh by the way can we please close a few small tax loopholes? It was the mother of all no brainers but the Tea Party freshmen would have no part of it. Why? Because they want to take down the federal government and damn the global economy if it goes down with it. So cut the bullshit. You guys were offered a deficit reduction deal way slanted in your favor and that met everything the S&P said, but the GOP said no... again. THAT is why the S&P lowered the rating and that is why they said they did it. READ THE FUCKING QUOTE. But who the hell I am kidding? Your side long ago gave up arguing the issues based differences of opinion on the facts. Now you just make up bullshit and repeat it over until enough people believe it. Your side has no honor and no integrity, and that is why I despise you people. S&P made it clear in no uncertain terms that a credible debt reduction plan, with at least $4 Trillion in cuts, had to be passed for the US government to keep its AAA+ rating. The plan that was passed fell far short of that with only $2 Trillion in cuts. When a creditor tells you to do something, but you only do half of it, then who's fault is it? The left is beginning to look rather pathetic in their attempts to spin this off on anyone other than themselves. They're even starting to go after S&P for this failure of leadership on their side.
