I'm not talking about the display, I'm talking about how they handle the information in the program. Cataloging books doesn't work very well. Just the simple ability to sort a list of books manually would be nice. Footnotes can only appear at the end of a chapter and you have to flip back and forth through a link. Would it be that hard to write the display program to shove the text up and put the note at the bottom of the current display screen? Any word processing program can do this on the fly and keep it placed as the text changes. The current Kindle interface is horribly primitive. That's pretty cool and if I were doing a kid's book might be great to utilize. But adults don't need all the bells and whistles for a regular book. Although, my novel has some cooking in it and I'm including recipes in an addendum or whatever you call it (it's late--errr early--and my brain's fried). My male protag writes a song in it so I could include that sung by someone with a good voice. And who plays guitar. Wow! That’s pretty cool and if I were doing a kid’s book might be great to utilize.
