I prefer to put fiscal concerns aside in this instance. The towers weren&#039;t going anywhere and they were an icon, but they were far from a proud example of modern architecture. It also makes a statement that we will not only rebuild but we will build it bigger and better.</description>

		<description>The time between groundbreaking and the ribbon cutting for the original WTC was 6 years and 8 months.  6 years and 8 months after 9/11, this would have been May 11 of 2008.

The Twin Towers, maybe with some engineering design improvements, should have been rebuilt as they were.  And it shouldn&#039;t have taken anywhere near this long.

Still, I&#039;m okay with the current design.  It&#039;s a damn sight better than some of the crap they were coming up with at the beginning.</description>
