I decided to stay put. The U-Verse deal only saved me about $15 and the negative reviews for U-verse would give anyone pause.

The negativity was to a great extent about their one dvr per household. The dvr has 4 receivers and they say that all tvs have full recording ability for up to 4 channels with all features available. It sounds very neat.

The reviews say that the dvr often fails to deliver as advertised and their customer service is awful. The Internet service is also spotty and not the steady 12 mps they promise.

All this combined with the problems I have had with ATT landline were enough to change my mind.

The rep that called to confirm my order made a halfhearted attempt to resell me but gave it up when I told him about the reviews. He kind of chuckled and said most people don't do the research that I did.

There are several companies fighting for my business, but the key thing seems to be that they will give me the best deals only in packages: phone, TV, and internet being the basic package.

Unfortunately, I have found the best services in all three in separate outfits, and I'm happy with it. Still, I know it's costing me more. I am constantly watching the situation, and will jump in if something becomes appealing enough on all three fronts.

If you already use ATT for cell service, you might as well go for it.
