One of the problems with longer threads is the “squeeze” at the right side. I was wondering if there’s any way that the system could be set up to count a certain number of replies, and then do a “carriage return” to flip things back to the left again.

I suspect this is a non-trivial modification, but I thought I’d throw it out there.
