A bit of advice. Never, EVER, eat a hamburger in a hospital cafeteria. You have no idea where they get their beef.

Sorry, I couldn’t resist that. Its a Mort Drucker gag from his “Dr Kildare” spoof in Mad Magazine. Seriously, Mme Reclus used to run a hospital cafeteria when we lived in Pittsburgh, she was very proud of her cuisine and I often enjoyed eating there myself.

The cafeteria at the hospital where my wife works (not in the cafeteria) has real live chefs and gourmet types. Everything is a Dish. It’s the sort of place where they use things like eggplant. Without an eggplant license.

Thank God they also have a grill that makes decent burgers.

When I worked at ESL in Sunnyvale, the machines in the break room carried the exciting “Spicy Tuna Olé” and the incomparable “Chinese Chicken Burrito”: the finest in Silicon Valley Cuisine.

I always referred jokingly to sushi as bait

I was surprised to find out that somethings are pretty good. Spare me the sea urchins and other yuckkie stuff.

I don’t eat sushi often enough to know what I like but it is the layered thing with thin sliced tuna, I think, and a horseradish paste on bread.

California rolls are what I like best. The big slabs of fish turn me off. I do like the shrimp things.

I don’t eat the weird shit, like octopus and globs of fish eggs.
