You need to find a new agent then. Seriously. There are only so many years you have to live (may they be long and prosperous) and cannot afford to waste a year on a dud agent when you could be getting published.

You could, of course, try sending your manuscript out directly to publishers, bypassing an agent. Nullify your agreement with the agent first, of course.

I’ve got an agent, but I’m afraid he’s not really producing for me. My first book is “tween” targeted. Second one, a lot shorter, more middle-grade.

Definitely on my list of all-time favorite movies. The book was spectacular, too.

Would you believe I thought a lot of the non-fairy-tale background in that book was true? Until I was in my 40s?

I think we all agree that fantasy is perfectly acceptable on this board.
