They are ridiculous…crazier than shit house rats.

What is scary is that one of the two major defining political philosophies in this country has deliberately chosen to align itself with these troglodytes and is courting them actively to get their electoral support. That is unforgiveable, and betrays a cynicism and dishonesty of a high order. In my opinion, this will eventually bring them to grief, but not before incalculable damage is done to the rest of the nation as well.

This is nothing new, I have seen evidence of this unholy alliance ever since I became politically aware, in my teens. The political Right has deliberately sought out these religious fanatics, as they have racists (the two groups overlap considerably, they make up the core of the rural southern fascist behavioral constellation), because they have found them to be malleable recruits and readily adaptable to their own domestic economic and political agenda.

I am not saying that conservatives are necessarily racists or religious extremists, but racists and fundamentalists are more often than not, conservative. They will deny it, but you, I and they know it perfectly well. And the conscious decision by the Right to embrace and encourage these toxic elements of society will come back to haunt them, and the rest of us as well.
