How Cats Communicate October 19, 2011 6:59 am Eri

I found a site that gives you the meanings of kitty tail communication. Merc doesn’t communicate with his tail. He is smart and has adapted to living with a human. If he wants something and is being ignored, he starts knocking things off my tables, opening drawers and generally being a little shit. If it’s snack time, he comes and taps me on the shoulder while sitting over where I keep the kitty snacks. Every night, same time, tap, tap, tap until he gets his snacks. It’s so cute.

Now, Phoenix uses his tail to communicate his needs or desires to me. He presents his back and swish swish. Which means either “Feed me!” “Snack time!” or “Play with me!” Now if he doesn’t get what he wants, there is this one little tail movement he does where he flicks his tail from back toward his head. Sharp and concise flick. Per the site, I’ve just had my cat say, “Fuck you!” That’s when I absolutely refuse to open the patio door so he can have fresh air. (It’s a little chilly now to open it so I’m getting an occasional, “Fuck you!”)

LOLOL.
