They were executed by firing squad shortly after their capture. I guess, technically, there is no rule of law in a revolutionary situation.

The most to be hoped for is observation of natural law which frowns on torture and an inhumane death.

Sic semper tyrannis…you’re right on all the procedural points, but nevertheless that’s the shit that happens to people who choose Qaddafi’s path. I’d say that Saddam was treated with exceptional civility, while Moammar’s fate was more in line with longstanding tradition.

Qaddafi died the death he both deserved and expected. I seriously doubt he died with a look of surprise on his face.
