I got fine with it as long as I was reassured there was transparency and everyone could edit. It turns out there is no transparency for editing replies, and everyone can edit with impunity. The storm which followed my post being moved to Trash has been very reassuring, and I suspect it won't happen again. At least to me. That would be too much of a coincidence.
