He said that as soon as the Occupy movement started the youth and homeless shelters emptied as people left for the "happening". He added the official estimate was that 70% of the full-time Occupiers were those people, who did not share the agenda of the movement. Once I was a reporter and highly involved with politics and science and just about everything else. I researched well and had a memory that wouldn't quit. One of the reasons I'm divorced is I never lost an argument on any subject with my husband or with anyone else. It usually didn't take me very long to do it. I'm old, I'm tired and I'm still passionate but I give enough of a shit to do the research and heavy lifting to put you in your place because it would be a waste of time and energy. When I was a 19-year-old reporter, I ripped the editorial writer of our newspaper a new one (politely, of course) for some political comments he made. Our publisher patted me on the back. But that was then, this is now, and my fire is burning dim. So don't get puffed up thinking you defeat me. You can't defeat someone who won't fight you. No Tom, I just quit. In Portland, Oregon, the people voted on what to do, where to go, what to occupy. And not one of them was forced to sign a contract to go along with the leadership, unlike the Republican Senators. Not a single one. There has been admirable restraint on the part of the police, and it is disbanding peacefully. What a coincidence. Your sack dance seems silly. As the rich get richer, the poor poorer, the middle class as ephemeral as the American Dream, as the 1% and their brainwashed allies continue to loot the system, those demonstrations will get larger and more frightening. More of a violent underclass will participate, people who will not control themselves, folks of the type who rioted in the '60s with rampant destruction. Only this time, with a focus for the movement, the destruction will be aimed at the super-affluent. Nope, too soon for the sack dance, or to try to make fun of them. Either the disparity between rich and poor will be evened out, the American Nightmare restored to the American Dream, all people share in the resources of this great land, greed replaced with capitalism, or your grandchildren will be storming the gated communities.
