When I was 25 and able to grow a garden and be self-sustaining, it wouldn't have been a big deal to me individually. It would be a death sentence to me now. Which teaches me something. When I was 25 and able to grow a garden, I should have been doing just that (actually I did but didn't continue when I again had the opportunity) and also should have become a volunteer to help older people. It's a sad thing that we don't gain wisdom until it's too late and then we gain it only because we have become (meaning me and others like me) the vulnerable ones.
