I'll admit it was being fought by a government. Now I believe the Occupy Wall Street movements are protesting rapacious economic policies. I'll admit they are supported by the government. I don't see how they are "pretty much exactly" alike. The '60s and '70s had little support from the "Silent Majority" and the police were violent. The Occupy movement has enormous support from the "Silent Majority" and the police are much more civil. The common element is that the folks who opposed the Vietnam protests also oppose the Occupy Wall Street movement. Whoever wrote that quote was just making stuff up. The ones criticizing the OWS'ers are the same people who criticized my generation from the 60's, etc. That is the people in power who feel their power threatened which, unfortunately, includes some sleazy cops who get on power trips and enjoy hurting people. These are the same goons who like the slam people around who are handcuffed with irons on. I'm a product of the 60's and 70's and believe me, I'm sitting here, yelling "GO GET THE M-Fers!" and would probably be out there with a sign could I physically do it. I never did do it back then because my husband was military and we were overseas. I'm sorry I missed it. I'm sorry I'm missing this one. But I am not criticizing and neither are any of the liberals I know. You want to find the ones who are threatened, look to the Conservatives.
