GWB? There’s a couple of landslides, as Conservatives subverted the electoral process clear up to the Supreme Court. A shameful denial of democracy.

I think there’s a qualitative difference between groping an unwilling woman and having an affair with a willing one. The character flaw in the first is much different than in the second.

Cain deserves it, and I’m sorry to see he’s gone. Just another example of the kind of person Conservatives will try to foist on the American public. It’s all about power, getting somebody, anybody elected no matter how flawed or unsuitable.

Not because of any ideological reasoning, but because of pure practicality and common sense.
Obama is afraid of Romney, not Cain. Even if he did go to the absurd lengths of taking such a colossal risk, it would never be against a clown and a buffoon like Cain.

Besides, no one in his right mind would take a chance of being discovered framing an opponent until AFTER he became an actual opponent–that is, after he was actually nominated.

In fact, Cain was no threat to anyone except Gingrich, (and earlier, Perry),and then only in the context of the GOP nomination race. You will recall Cain blamed Perry for the original accusations.

For the record, I believe Cain is probably innocent of these latest charges, and probably guilty of those National Restaurant Association gropes. There was actual smoke back then, and that happened way before Cain announced he wa running.

In my opinion, this was a Gingrich wet job that was accidentally delayed a few days.

I know who and what the Democrats are afraid of. Just look for what they try their damnedest to destroy.

The primary destroy mission on Cain was running full tilt back when he was a frontrunner and Gingrich was still looking at taillights. Your original theory on this being a belated “hangfire” going off makes sense.

No, it makes no sense for Axelrod to go after Cain, now for Gingrich to do so, THAT makes sense. And the timing is just right.

61 calls over four months is like one every two days. There may not be any fire here, but this looks like some smoke to me.

For the record, sexually-related attacks on political opponents is a David Axelrod specialty. It’s how Obama made it through his first elections on his way to the Senate.

And of course, these are allegations. I’m inclined to give Mr Cain the benefit of a doubt on this one. The timing is just too convenient, don’t you think? Although his candidacy just got the coup de grace, it is pretty clear his political fortunes peaked a week or two ago. Why would anyone feel the need to attack him now, whether he was guilty or not?

Of course, if this IS a political smear, it would have taken time to arrange and put into motion. I suspect if that is the case, this torpedo was launched several weeks ago, when his candidacy was at the top of its arc. I wouldn’t be surprised if this attack was designed to sink Mr Cain, but he was already ablaze and dead in the water when he took the hit.

Cain hails from the toxic waters of Georgia politics, I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if he had business or political enemies there who were setting him up to go down. This may have been designed to take him out, but I believe it will only serve to finish the job.

I think someone wanted him out of the way, and was a little slow on the trigger.
