<description>I think Europe has an enormous presence in the world, and is critical to US interests. In my opinion, just opinions, if it&#039;s another victim of the US ratings companies malfeasance it would be a tragedy. No one has held those companies accountable to the degree they are responsible. As the US keeps heading South and the South keeps heading into the US, Europe was going to take up the slack in many areas. And it was generally an ally of the US.

If the Euro collapses and Europe re-fragments, it will have to be China and Russia who will take the lead. And if they get together, Russian money and skills and Chinese money, labor and manufacturing, the US will be challenged in many areas. For one thing, Russia and China would be a huge market.

Over time we would see US aircraft carrier groups forced back toward the US, the military presence in the Middle East come under more and more pressure as Russia moves west into Iran,

If Europe has to look outward for capital, the Airbus consortium could well go East. It&#039;s not going to find capital in the US. US space exploration will necessarily be starved for money, but that will be covered with rhetoric as to how superior the remaining efforts are. Meantime Russia and China will carry the manned efforts forward and come to own the ISS. Possession is 9 tenths of the law.

Anyway, those are guesses. A strong, intact Europe seems to me to be essential to US safety, security and strength.
