HD TV December 2, 2011 7:31 pm bowser

I may be the only person in the world who didn’t know this.  I have a 24″ HP HD monitor, AMD Radeon HD 6800 video card, and a 40″ HD TV set on the wall over the desk.    The computer can see the TV and use it as a second, or first monitor and I can watch Netflix or TV and use the computer at the same time.

So far, so good.  I have basic cable TV, which I assumed should be HD.  It’s not, or hasn’t been.  Kinda fuzzy, I lived with it, thought I must have to pay extra for HD TV.  Tonight I was tuning in the Oregon – UCLA football game and watched the fuzzy version.  I decided to go up a couple of channels and used the remote channel “up” arrow.

Wow.  I stayed on the same channel, but the game switched to a HD transmission.  I’ve tried that on some other channels, with the same result.  What a difference.   Whooda thunk?  Not me.
