Inhofe is a mouthpiece for the energy industry.

He's made a career of pushing their agenda. He is about as credible as Doug Hock, but at least, lying for EnCana is officially his job.

Of course, it could be argued that EPA is part of a Socialist conspiracy pledged to destroy America and plunge the world into darkness. Still, I must confess, I can't help but have more confidence in the veracity of a government agency tasked to protect the environment than a private one risking enormous amounts of capital in developing a potentially dangerous but highly profitable resource. I'm sorry, but I'm funny that way.

I am not opposed to fracking in principle, in fact, even with my little knowledge of geology, it seems unlikely this technology could be automatically hazardous in every circumstance. But industry is going to have to learn that when they start messing around with the world, the burden of proof is on them, not the victims.

When you piss in my soup, I shouldn't have to prove in court, or in peer-reviewed studies, that it's dangerous.
