I know this board is not big on sports but I assume the Assistant Coach Sandusky football scandal at PSU is common knowledge.

Joe Paterno is one of the ever shrinking population considerably older than me. His handling of the Sandusky affair dredged up an old memory of homosexual ignorance among previous generations.

I had a friend who had a homosexual uncle. His family had such an aversion to homosexuals they explained away his “problem” as a simple inclination to diddle other men in the rear. They were sure he was not a homo and would never engage in oral sex with another man.

I have no idea what unspeakable acts were committed by Sandusky on PSU football recruits but it appears that Paterno was somehow able to explain it all away as some kind of, more or less, harmless personality quirk.

So much for Paterno’s legacy
