Oh, wrong. Buy the mountain climbers book, read it while he’s climbing the next mountain, meet his GF in the lodge lobby, make it with her while he’s exhausting himself with no chance of being back for the next 2 weeks.

Next, another climbers book, read it in some lodge, meet HIS GF, etc.

There is a huge gulf between “like to read that book” and” like to have read” that book.

Applies to a lot of life. I’d like to have climbed that mountain, as opposed to I’d like to climb that mountain.

Not finish your books? Blasphemy!!! When I buy a book I intend to finish it. Granted, there’s not always time, but still….

Also, hats off to 33 and 34:
43. Book parties are for single people, and the only free lunch is at home.
44. Crime and comedy: everyone reads them, but they are rarely taken seriously.
