I picked up on the general idea, and I like it. The design that flashed into my head would have the link "spoiler" visible at first. You click it and the text replaces the link. Piece o'cake. Filed away.

Double-plus yep yep

The review nailed it, as did your comments. Another one bites the dust.

That idea of the show being reincarnated on a different channel or even different medium is intriguing. The traditional strategy is to agitate for another channel to sponsor the production, but as you point out by waving the syffy stick at me, that could be the fire after the frying pan. Going from Fox to NBC? The horror.

I have hopes that the "cutting the cord" movement will reform the TV marketplace as more people directly purchase their shows, cutting out the advertiser as the one who gets to decide what gets produced and what doesn't. And especially it cuts out the damn suits like those AMC jackasses.

I've long maintained that this marketplace is thoroughly busted as a result of depending on advertisers to pay for everything. There's no law of supply-and-demand when a third party is buying from the seller and giving it to the buyer, and here we are bitching about the results.

But anyway, too bad about Terra Nova.

BTW, the spoiler tags I put on my original post are from a site that uses that method to hide spoiler info. Using the tag you have to click a button to reveal the spoiler text.

I don't think it is anything we need here. I was just wondering if it was a universal html code.

Programming incompetence virus is airborne

The link below is a review of season 1 that pretty much nails it.

My reference to airborne virus is based on a recent comment by one of the suits at AMC in regard to their major hit, "The Walking Dead".

For 2 seasons the show has had huge ratings for a cable network. Instead of capitalizing on their success, they decided they needed to make more money by reducing the FX budget. One of the suits was quoted as saying, "Do we really need to see the zombies? Can't we just hear them sometimes?" Cutting costs is a great idea but denutting a major success is infinite stupidity. Darabont, who fathered the production, walked off, so hopefully saving his salary will allow the show to retain it's momentum.

But I digress, It looks like the decent season finale will not be enough to save TN. It could be picked up by a cable network but imagine the horror if that network is Syfy.

Yep

Radically-changed circumstances, realignment of loyalties, new "mystery" (well, I have to put it in quotes--does anybody here not anticipate what they'll find in the "bad lands"? Geez, it's a time travel story, three guesses where that ship's prow came from.)

And yet, as has happened all too many times, especially at Fox, the series is officially being considered for cancellation, and the oddsmakers call it a toss-up. They wouldn't be the first series cancelled on the eve of it finally coming together. Especially at Fox.

With the first season in the can, I have 78.7 gigabytes of Terra Nova DVR'd from the local Fox station (back in the analog days, that would be a pathetic statement. In the HDTV era, it means I have a very high-quality high-bandwidth 720p stream...primo stuff, better than if I'd downloaded from Amazon). Without a second season it's junk and I'll erase it. But with the twisty premise for a second season, if it's produced it might be worth keeping.

We called it pretty good, months ago, didn't we Frank?
