I'd like to see around 500-600 of these built in the US.

Shut down all of the coal fired and older nuclear plants, and replace them all with AP1000s. Build several fast breeder reactors near Yucca Mountain to reprocess spend fuel for reuse, then use the repository to house the small amount of waste that can't be used.

It would be a very good thing to have those dotted around the landscape. And if Yucca Flats could be used for waste disposal.

I have to admit the casual way radiation was handled in the US in the '50s should have been protested. It is taken quite seriously now and I think safely.

The fail-safe reactors and the storage facilities and methods which will be safe for longer than Man has had written language render this the only reasonable option for large-scale power generation until and if fusion comes along.

I think the only protesters who should be given publicity are those who do not use electricity, do not drive cars, do not ride bicycles on paved roads and who do not live in houses or apartments built by Man.

Despite what it seems most of the time, hypocrisy is not limited to one political party or persuasion.
