However, I hope he or she can realize the position Eri put the health care people in when she mentioned "suicide". When that happened they needed to take special precautions with her, and your basic med-surg ward can't do that. They just don't have the people or the physical plant. That's why they transferred her to a psychiatric facility, which would have that ability. After evaluating her they moved her back. Imagine if she had mentioned suicide and they did nothing and she died. There would be hell to pay. I'm not saying her care has been perfect, or good or even bad. I was afraid that her speech indicated a stroke. Doesn't mean that's what happened but sounds like it. My father had a stroke and he was bedridden and could not speak for about two weeks. The doctor said he "had a small stroke" and it was actually a good thing because then they could treat him and monitor his condition. After a few weeks he was good as new. Also I've noticed that people that go into the hospital for major illness or injury don't come out the same. It seems to take a month or two until there back to themselves.
