Folks with a brain who are concerned with the issues seem to be Democratic. College professors are another good example.

NASCAR folks are probably more Republican.

Sheldon Adelson recently gave Newt's PAC $5M to run anti-Romney adds in South Carolina. Adelson's wife just gave the PAC another $5M to do the same in Florida. Welcome to the wonderful world of Citizens United.

More information:

This article is from last September, so the numbers won't be accurate, but it does have a nice list of donors.

For more current numbers on specific Super PACs, see here.

Obviously, the Democrats don't need as much at this point since there's no primary, and no Republican nominee yet. These numbers next year will be instructive.

The Republicans have created a Frankenstein monster, and they are starting to realize how its hurting them, not the Democrats. They will try to roll it back, but it won't be in time for this election, where it can't be used against Obama.

"Super Sized: Super PACs raise millions in GOP race." The Roberts court has made elections even more dependent upon million dollar donors, who now have freedom of speech.

The "Party of the Rich" might not be what everyone thinks it is.
Barack Obama plans to raise a billion dollars for his campaign, and it ain't coming out of kids' penny jars.

For more fun, click on the "media" category and others. Click "total" to sort by amounts.

Do not overlook that "special interest" column.

Very useful site, which I bookmarked. I usually use this one.

Well, one thing certainly jumps out at you from these numbers.
Artistic, talented and otherwise successful people seem much more likely to favor Democrats than they do Republicans. And it certainly can't be "the politics of envy".

Oh here's a good one.

Most "winning" contributors.
Here

They need to sift it so you can see who gets the most bang for their buck.
