USB3 is supposed to be like 5 GB/s.  Don&#039;t know what slowed you down.

I do know that a lot of hubs and things will run everything at whatever the slowest USB is that&#039;s plugged in.</description>

The bigger the memory capacity, the more you care about the throughput. The other day my office server crashed, and I had to backup and then restore 1.5 terabytes to an external drive connected via USB 3, and it took 18 hours each way. Speed matters.</description>
