I am glad I don’t have to trust my welfare to about half the people on these boards.  Not only to they regard taxing the wealthy as confiscatory, they advocate war against backward countries to steal their resources.  While robbing these places, they kill and maim innocent people and they do not provide ongoing medical care or support.

Not only do they oppose regulations which would ensure pure air and water, they oppose universal health care which might provide for those affected who can’t afford insurance.

If only they could see themselves as others see them.  They can’t, though.  The problem is their lack of insight, a key ingredient for compassion and empathy.

It is quite sad.  Many are very nice people, good neighbors, good friends.  And there is something broken, something lacking, something which prevents them from being truly human, part of a social species.

And many of them regard themselves as followers of Jesus Christ, while ignoring his teachings.  Completely ignoring them.  How can they do that?
