The Republican primary is guaranteed to be nastier with Newt ascendant, and OK, who doesn’t enjoy watching the Republican Circular Firing Squad in action? But then, if Newt becomes the Republican nominee, we are absolutely guaranteed the nastiest election in this country’s history. The kind that leaves behind division and resentment that will last for years.

That’s Newt. That’s what you get when you choose Newt as your champion.

I sure hope you’re right that he’d sink the GOP’s chances if he becomes their nominee. You’re playing with fire.
