If it wasn't for oil, the Middle East would have as much significance to Americans as equatorial Africa does now.

Politics and economics make for poor bedfellows, true. And simple corruption should be exposed for what it is.

$1.4 billion funneled to the Bush's. The FBI lying and misleading the American people. My cousin dying in Iraq, and not Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia has oil, too.

The same people who scoff at conspiracy theories sign off on being lied to by the most powerful agencies in government. By the most powerful people in government.

And since the American people have no outrage, no shame, no concern, the country, or any country like it, is doomed. When the people know they are being duped, lied to and stolen from and act as if it isn't happening that country doesn't deserve anything else.

Some of us hollared the Emperor had no clothes, but folks are still acting as if he did. Even after the game was up, even after everyone knew.

Disgusting.

None of this is really all that surprising, Bowser. There are other reasons besides covering up mistakes or criminal activity to do this sort of thing. There are also national priorities. Bush needed the Saudis just like Obama needs the Pakis, and Churchill and Roosevelt needed Stalin. Sometimes the greater evil..., the devil you know..., the enemy of my enemy..., etc etc...

I don't know all the facts to this case, but there may be very good reasons for what happened, reasons that it would be best if they did not become public.

Then again, people DO try and cover up their crimes and mistakes.

And more. "The final 28 pages, regarding possible foreign support for the terrorists, were censored in their entirety -- on President George W. Bush’s instructions."

Americans died in Iraq allegedly to avenge 9-11, possibly the most reprehensible con job by an American President and Vice President in history.

For an extensive view of the Bush families ties to Saudi Arabia, "The Tangled Web Of U.S.-Saudi Ties", a magazine article, gives more information.

"Both then-president Bush and the current president have had personal and deep financial ties with the Saudi royal family. Author and journalist Craig Unger documents $1.4 billion that has "made its way" from the Saudi royal family to "entities tied" to the Bush family, according to Unger's controversial book "House of Bush, House of Saud."

"Unger contends that the documented oil holdings and affiliations of both Bush presidents has led to a policy of inaction in the post-Sept. 11 world."
