Apparently the liberal rule is that if you make someone pay for those who want free abortions, anything else you do or say to women is forgiven. We found that out in the 90s. Again, I still remember how MoveOn.org was named.

I notice the Democrats aren’t really running with this any more. The Republicans are.

Just as an aside, it’s funny how putting a small instrument in a vagina is “rape,” something similar to what is done for almost all routine exams, but shoving equipment all the way into a uterus to scrape and vaccuum out an unborn child is an inalienable right.

Now, we can talk about this issue in a broad way which will shine light on the entire issue, or we can go down the path of tiny little details of who has said what nastier things.

How’s this, you guys keep Rush and we’ll keep Bill. And we’ll all keep all our other nasty commentators and celebs. End of that nonsense. The focus should be on politicians who actually make the decisions.

The “war on women” is obviously a politically charged label, as is the “war on religion.” The latter is utterly nonexistent and is part of the fictional Obama the rightwing news have created. The former would better be called “the war on women’s reproductive decisions.”

Dozens of bills across the country are aimed at Planned Parenthood. Forcing medically unnecessary transvaginal unltrasounds on women seeking abortions, as is the law in TX and almost was in VA, is rape by any definition. This kind of legislation is happening all over the country. It is a war on women’s personal reproductive decisions. The contraception issue is really the least of it, but also illustrates just how backward thinking your party is.

We know the Republicans killed the ERA, and wouldn’t ratify the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women. It takes two/thirds to ratify, and the Republicans have blocked it.

Time to man up TB, you blew this one. We all do from time to time and we can either die in our ditches and look foolish or admit we are wrong. You won’t disappear, or be less of a person.

On the other hand there are some kinds of people who simply cannot admit it. Google that and see what comes up.

Anyway, we’ve beat this one to death. There is no Obama “war on women” except in minds of those who can concoct and believe anything at all which is convenient.

As much as you and Bowser would like to haul the discussion off the road with you, this is the point:

The Democratic Party and liberals went into a well-organized high dither over a conservative showing “disrespect” for women, hoping to shift the political focus away from the original Constitutional issue, not to mention multiple failed Democratic policies.

Unfortunately for their plan, it turns out that Democrats and liberals have a very long history of misogynistic behavior themselves. Even now they are being chummy with (and taking campaign money from) people who are infamous for misogynism.

There have been many other examples put out there in the past couple of weeks, of which I put forth two, conveniently packed into one blog entry. There are many more.

This conflict between the liberal moral position and their actions is what we call “hypocrisy.”

The Democratic Party and their media pals are now quietly backing away from this phony issue. Obama is trying to kick this can into 2013 with his latest (Friday) “accommodation.” Meanwhile the useful idiots remain, as usual, about two steps behind.

And specifically, about forcing religious organizations to provide contraception against their principles.

As much as the Left would like to blur the distinctions so they can quietly shove the rest of that camel into the tent, let’s keep the discussion where it started.

The Democratic Party knows damn well that if this flap had been about forcing a religious organization to pay for actual abortions, the backfire would have blown them into next week.
