There’s nothing wrong with the words, or the concepts they represent, but those who love to throw them around usually have other plans for you. Those who insist on waving the flag in your face usually are covering up the fact they have their other hand in your pocket.

There are not many tyrants or tyrannies in history that did not rise to power by advertising that they were doing it for “the People” or “the Public Good.” Some of them believed it themselves, even while standing on mounds of corpses.

As for the “concentration of power for kind and beneficial ends”, that is nonsense. That may be what they tell the infantry and the widows. but power is concentrated always to improve somebody’s financial position.

TB, I know you love to see history as a running battle between freedom loving small businessmen and greedy grasping Statists, but I see it as constant, endless corporate warfare.

Nothing Bush – Cheney did bothered you, and they were the champions. Didn’t care what was legal or illegal, and much was illegal, with nary a protest from Conservatives. Or you.
