This isn’t actually true. There are people trying to sell you something. Don’t listen to them.

Look around for yourself. And stop watching TV news.

Look at the premises that started getting accepted as the thread was diverted away from forced wealth redistribution:

“No forced wealth redistribution = no health care.”

“No health insurance = no health care.”

“No forced wealth redistribution = immoral”

Really.

I pointed out in another post that the amount governments spend on health care for the poor every year, right now, is bumping the half-trillion dollar mark. This is an average of over three thousand dollars a year contributed by each taxpaying household in America. For health care for the poor. Isn’t this “moral” enough?

But this has never been about delivering health care. It’s been about giving the government a vast new power base. Liberals will accept no other solution than socialized medicine. Even if it works better.

I just posture with Bowser because he is annoying.

I’m ignoring the increase in the cost of healthcare.

In my state,since 2000, heathcare costs have doubled while the average income has increased by 16%.

Used to be a person could manage to pay a good deal of their own healthcare if they chose not to buy or participate in a plan. Not any more.

I won’t argue the merits or pitfalls of Obamacare but I will admit it’s not simply a matter of the poor and working poor expecting a handout.

But Grandma can always help. She has only had two heart attacks and has diabetes.

I just told you that our governments, right now, spend about $450 billion a year on health care for the poor.

Last year, we spend something like $160 billion on war spending for both wars.

You do the fractions.

Then you can point to this mythological poor kid who can’t get Medicaid, can’t get charitable help, and won’t get treated if he shows up at a hospital.

Tell me way is moral and children doing without health care is immoral.

Go ahead, have the guts. Tell me.

(I know you don’t. I’m just taunting you guys.)

Ironically, from what I’ve read, Bowser actually does contribute his own personal time and effort to help others. I don’t see why he doesn’t understand the difference.

About 20 percent of America’s total medical expenditures. Care for the poor, paid by others. Not even counting the $45 billion or so a year the private medical industry and foundations contribute charitably.

Moral virtue is not something you gather at someone else’s expense. A concept that, like many others, you have to wipe from your brain the minute it lands there.

I’ve tried to refrain from making comments on intelligence and the ability to think. It ain’t easy, in a target-rich environment. I suggest you do the same.
