Be careful, TB. You’ve recognized that similarities in partisan rhetoric suggest that political speech may be more a function of partisanship itself than of intrinsic philosophical differences. THAT is a very dangerous concept: political relativism, a Liberal idea if I ever heard one.

Its hard to be a Zealot or a True Believer when your critics start using the same language you do. A neutral third party might not be able to tell us apart.

That’s called a stump speech, it is worked on and refined by campaign workers and then presented over and over again to pound home the key themes the strategists feel are vital to their message; especially if they have been shown to be effective in the past. You can “discover” the same tiresome repetitions in any of the Republican candidates’ stump speeches, all the way back to Barry Goldwater.

You must really be running out of ideas TB, to be relying on plainly identified RNC campaign ads to push your non-message. What’s next? Are you going to be soliciting contributions?
