I remember driving once, stopped in traffic, and I was listening to a classic rock station playing 40 year old hard rock. I glanced in my rear-view mirror and in the car behind me I could see a girl young enough to be my granddaughter rocking to music. From the way her body was bobbing and weaving, I knew she was listening to the same station I was.

It made me feel...well, validated.

BTW, who is Wham! ?

Looking at this video got me listening to a litany of old classics - ZZ Top, Kansas, Van Halen, Wham!.....

I don't know why more people my age aren't listening to this stuff. It's good for the ears.

He's entitled to his political beliefs. Unfortunately, anything that could be even remotely interpreted as a threat to a President is going to be treated very harshly, as it should be.

I'd just as soon not see him thrown into prison, I don't think he's a threat to anyone, but after assassinations and repeated attempts, we do have a zero-tolerance policy, as we should. Besides, if he gets any legal penalty for this, it will just make a martyr out of him.

His best days as an artist are way behind him, not because of his politics, but because he sold out, selling commercial crap to teeny boppers instead of the serious music he used to play: rock for grown-ups. And of course, his anti-drug shtick is just that. When I saw him on stage he was snorting coke openly (even if it was just "simulated" snorting) and the crowd was loving it.

My brother knows him personally, Ted frequently patronizes a business where my sister in law works. He says he's a nice guy in person.

Ted has a cult following. He has become more vociferous as he gets older. A 'getting older and losing patience with ignorance' mantra.

I really don't think he gives a shit what other people think. He says what he means. He means what he says.
His authenticity, something that only comes with age, is what I admire....and of course, his music.
Should he not have said it? Probably. Does he care? Probably not. Do I care? Nope. It is what it is. Remember the Dixie Chicks?

Just what the doctor ordered

Derek and Ted administer an overdose of rock and roll. From the same album, and the same tour I saw in 1976.
