“FBI director Robert Mueller visited Yemen on Tuesday, pledging to help quell an Islamist insurgency there, as security and government sources said a U.S. drone had killed a prominent al-Qaida leader linked to an attack on a French oil tanker.
“In a meeting with President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, who took office earlier this year, Mueller promised that the United States would continue to support Yemen “with full force” in all respects.”
I know the old rule of the FBI operating out of the country has been stomped on, trashed and violated so much it no longer exists. But since when can the Director of the FBI commit the US to a foreign war? Who wants to go to war over Yemen? Why shouldn’t the oil companies pay to keep their shipping lanes open?
Let’s be serious. The only explanation for this is that the oil companies own the US government. Both parties.
This is flat ridiculous. The US should just shovel oil companies money and let them guard their own ships. After all, most of them are going somewhere else.
