I don’t think that your party affiliation defines your views entirely, however – anyone can believe that the United States has the capacity to do great good (WITHOUT meddling with the rest of the world’s affairs), and they’re right. I don’t personally define that as American Exceptionalism, but the way I define things tends to be different than how others do.

As for the Republican attitude about Obama, and “deliberate sabotage” (even assuming Draper is an accurate source), I have a very hard time believing that the Democrats in the House and Senate after Bush took office in January of 2001 were all about helping Bush carry out his programs and not obstructing him any way they could.
